How much do you tip for large appliance delivery?
Two delivery men from Home Depot will be delivering and installing a 260 pound refrigerator to my NYC apartment, and removing the old one. I’m in a fifth floor walk up apartment (no elevator), and though all the searches I’ve found on delivery tipping says to tip each of them $20, that seems a little low for four flights of stairs. Any thoughts/better ideas?
We don’t tip deliveries. They get paid per job, per hour.
Where can I view interior pictures of Amana french-door refrigerators?
I have never tipped a delivery person

He gets paid good by the hour for doing his job . Tips shouldn’t even be a issue hes not providing a service that is not already paid for in your price. But is a nice gesture.

You actually don’t need to tip them if you don’t want to. It is part of their job. That is why they have that job. I asked a Home Depot Rep.

i never tip anyone. they get a wage and they knew what the pay was before they started their job so tough.

better in my pocket than theirs.
These people are well paid, they expect no tips. I’m a person that tips well at restaurants and even leave something for maids in Motels. This is not a line of work to expect tips.

Do remember that they have special equipment to handle this amount of weight up those stairs; however, I would tip them $35 each if you can afford it. They do work hard and strain their backs alot and don’t get paid all that great for the work they do, so be generous if it doesn’t break the bank. It will be much appreciated.

Tipping is unnecessary and not expected, but very much appreciated by these men. I’d give them $10 – $20 a piece if you can afford it. It’s nice that you appreciate the hard work they do.
