Is Frigidaire a decent brand for a washer and dryer – need to know so we can be ready for our honeymoon!?
I know it’s not a wedding question, but I’m here often and would think most of you may have more experience with Appliances than me. My fiance and I bought a house a few weeks ago and are getting married in 11 days, and I’d like to get a new washer and dryer so we can do lots of laundry before we pack for our honeymoon. I found a Frigidaire set, but I don’t know if they are notoriously bad or anything. Anyone have any experience or recommendations, or know where I can find reviews of brands online (I tried consumerreports.org, but you have to pay to subscribe!)? I’m not looking for top-of-the-line, but I don’t want something that is going to break down in 6 months either. Thanks!

I think they are a pretty good brand. If you have questions stop in to a Lowe’s or something, they are always really nice about answering questions.

I am very happy with my front loaders. They are so quiet sometimes I find myself going back to make sure I turned the washer on.

That brand has a good reputation.
The Sears house brand, Kenmore, also has a good reutation. Plus you have the Sears name to back it up.

I work in an appliance showroom, Frigidaire is cheap crap! Go with the Maytag Epic or the Whirlpool Duet

Frigidaire is a good brand for just about anything they make, I think weve used them all my life.
Im 21 and weve had maybe 2 washers and Dryers

I found out recently that all appliance companies have what is called dept store quality appliances. Those are the ones that places like home depot and lowes sells. A GE from Home Depot is cheaper then an actual appliance store because it is not as good of quality. Found this out from my appliance repair me. Just dont buy your appliances from a store like those 2. I have had horrible luck with all appliances I have bought at either. I got a washer and dryer for my wedding as a gift. It was a kenmore. It lasted 14 years never breaking. They actually still worked I just had to get a bigger set. I have 5 kids so I do alot of laundry. Just bought a new set and went with Kenmore again.
